Prince Edward Island

Place Holder
We started the day off with a challenge. When we stopped to get fuel, we also checked the air pressure in our tires. The pressure in Alans rear tire was down from the standard specification. Upon inspection, he found that the tire had a nail in it. Now if you know Alan, he has planned ahead for the situation. He pulls out his tire plugging kit, rolls under the bike, and has the tire plugged, inflated and ready to go in about 10 minutes.

Today, we departed New Brunswick and entered Prince Edward Island. We got to the island via the Confederation Bridge, an eight mile bridge. My nervous anticipation of crossing the bridge soon passed once we were on the bridge and saw that is had a hard road surface (some bridges have a grated surface that is not very friendly to motorcycles).

Once on the island, we were amazed at the amount of agriculture here. Their main crop is potatoes. A local told us that the anagram for Prince Edward Island (PEI) is "potatoes every inch".

We traveled into Charlottetown and ate lunch. We then proceeded to Wood Island where the ferry crosses over to Nova Scotia. We then headed north to St. Peter where we spent the night.

Today was the big day - Confederation Bridge -8 miles long, high in the sky and a curve all in one bridge. To look at it from a distance, it was terrorizing! But, amazingly, once you were on it, it was just like any other paved road only going across water. In fact, we will be going back over it on Sunday.
